In 2023, I organized HackAPrompt 1.0, the largest Generative AI Red Teaming competition ever held, sponsored by OpenAI, ScaleAI, and Hugging Face. Over 3,300 participants demonstrated how easily prompt injections, the top security threat to LLMs, can bypass model guardrails. Currently we are running HackAPrompt 2.0 which is looking to break records by giving out over $100k in prizes for the best Gen AI attacks.
Our competition yielded the world's largest dataset of prompt injection attacks, now used by leading AI labs, including OpenAI, to significantly strengthen their models.
